Stacey’s counseling career was born out of her own healing. Thus, she sees herself as a wounded healer. She is the Chief Clinical Officer for Daring Ventures Counseling, Coaching, and Consulting, LLC. She is also an EMDR Certified Therapist and has undergone extensive training in treating Complex Trauma and Dissociative Disorders. She is also trained in Emotional Transformation Therapy and utilizes this skill to help with emotional regulation and intrusive thoughts and triggers. Stacey is a trainer for The Association of Partners of Sex Addicts Trauma Specialists (APSATS) and trains clinicians & coaches to treat clients using Multidimensional Partner Trauma Model to treat clients who are suffering from betrayal trauma.
Stacey is Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) level 1 trained. Along with Dr. Jake Porter's Couple Centered Recovery she helps couples understand how wounds from their past impact their relationships today and develop healthy communication patterns employing listening, empathy and validation. She is also training to become a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and is currently a CSAT Candidate.
In addition, Stacey travels with New Life Ministries across the country to speak and facilitate weekend healing groups on specific issues such as: weight loss, sexual betrayal, trauma, marital intimacy and general healing. She also speaks to many other groups on topics like betrayal trauma, group counseling, single womanhood and healthy physical and emotional intimacy in marriage. She received her undergraduate degree from Texas State in 1988. Her graduate degree is from Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia. She became an LPC in late 2010. She is now a newlywed and lives near Galveston, Texas with her husband John, where they love to fish and enjoy the beach.
Stacey believes that Christ is the center of the healing process.Her Biblical values are the basis from which she counsels. She believes that there are great benefits to integrating the power of one's faith into the therapeutic process. However, she meets client's where they are in regards to this issue and respects their wishes in regards to prayer and faith.
